Dixon School of Arts and Sciences is a 501(c)(3) non-profit private school that uses the arts to inspire learning, creativity, and successful problem-solving. Students attending our school receive free education, transportation, and meals provided they apply for the Step Up for Students income-based scholarship. Dixon School of Arts and Sciences leverages engagement in the arts to teach traditional academic subjects with a creativity-rich, arts-integrated approach.
Arts-integrated curriculum propels children to participate more actively in their education, to remember what they learn, and to explore their creativity. We offer a dynamic Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (S.T.E.A.M.) curriculum. Our mission is to promote a life-long love of learning in all our students. We emphasize off-site excursions and community partnerships to drive the academic experience.
We are a Title I school that emphasizes very small class sizes. With smaller class sizes, our teachers can more readily identify and meet all students’ individual learning needs. Our curriculum suits students with strong interest and/or talent in the arts, science, engineering, and technology. We combine an exemplary fine arts program with a rigorous Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (S.T.E.A.M.) curriculum.
Each child’s potential is like a pinwheel. By exposing the blades of each student’s metaphorical pinwheels to positive physical, mental, academic, and spiritual stimulation, we produce beautiful and unique results.
